Q & A:

COL: How old are you and where are you from?

MR: Almost 41, from Asker Norway.

COL: What do you do?

MR: I work as an art consultant, with artists, and started YME Art Posters (YAP, a contemporary art posters series) last spring.

COL: How long have you been doing it?

MR: I have always been connected with art in one or other way, been drawing, carving and photographing since I was a kid. Living and working with artists and creative friends.

COL: What’s your first artistic memory?

MR: Drawing with my two brothers on the living room floor. Dad showing me beauty in math.
Seeing Munch as a teenager.

COL: What inspired you to pursue a career in art?

MR: Art is what inspire me the most.

COL: If you could have any piece of art in history, what would you choose?

MR: It depends on where I could place it :)
Wolfgang Tillmanns
Tori Wrånes

COL: What is your relationship with fashion?

MR: I grew up with older siblings and used to inherit or take my brothers clothes, now I also get their wives old clothes. I like to spend money on item's rather than fast fashion. It's always great to see what Ann Cathrin November Høibo is wearing, she's got an amazing
fashion sensibility.

COL: Who do you admire?

MR: Charlie Roberts and Chris Rexroad who started Got it 4 cheap, a great concept that gives so
many artist good publicity and gives everybody a chance to buy contemporary art. In many ways it's similar to YAP, many of the artists involved in both YAP and GI4C have been picked up by galleries or sold work through their studio. It's great to see that it works on many different levels.

There are so many other hard working creative's that I admire;
Ida and Harald at HAIK/W
Tove and Hernia at Tableau Paper
Marthe Elise Stramrud
Excited to follow the work of photographer Maria Pasenau, and the exhibitions at Golsa.

COL: Who are you excited to see?

MR: I hope to get excited by people I haven't seen before or been excited by yet.

COL: How important is the ability to expose your art to you and your creative field?

MR: YME Art Posters (YAP) is about opening the contemporary art scene to a wider audience.
Through YAP you get introduced to both well established and emerging artists, and where to
buy original artwork either from their galleries or their studio space. It is great to be a part of
Collective.
