Q & A:
COL: How old are you and where are you from?
EG: I am 26 years old, and I am from Oslo.
COL: What do you do?
EG: I am a fashion designer and illustrator.
COL: How long have you been doing it?
EG: Since I graduated from London College of Fashion in 2015.
COL: What inspired you to pursue a career in art?
EG: I always been creative as a kid painting and drawing, but it wasn’t until later in life I realized that I wanted to work with fashion and art.
COL: Do you remember your first work of art?
EG: I remember drawing a portrait of my best friend in 3rd grade, and I think that’s the first one I have a good memory off.
COL: If you could have any piece of art in history, what would you choose?
EG: I am very inspired by Basquiat´s free and explosive lines, but if I were to choose one art piece it must be the lithograph "La Perruche et la Sirene” by Henry Matisse.
COL: What is your relationship with fashion?
EG: I love fashion and the way I am able to express my art and my vision trough this channel.
COL: What does the word “collective” mean to you as an artist?
EG: Collective to me means sharing ideas and being inspired by other people, artist, designers as well as my surroundings.
COL: What is the best and worst thing about being an artist?
EG: The best thing I would say is that I love what I do and I feel grateful that I am able to express my creative vision every single day and the drive that gives me. The worst thing is that’s impossible to time the creative energy. Sometimes I have been working really hard on projects for a long time, and maybe in the end of project you get an idea that’s even better and the whole project turn direction. That often leaves you with a very tight deadline etc, but I also think that’s the beauty of the creative work.
COL: Who do you admire?
EG: My grandmother and her sister, their unique energy and will power inspires me in so many ways. The way they look at life with such positive and wonderful attitude.
COL: What can we expect to see at this year’s festival?
EG: I don’t want to reveal too much, but this season I am working with completely different techniques as well as suppliers to bring the collection to life, but I can assure you it will be very different from what I done previously.
COL: Who are you excited to see?
