QA:
COL: How old are you and where are you from?
TQ: I am 33 years old and I am from Oslo, Norway
COL: What do you do?
TQ: I am a photographer working mainly in the fashion and advertising scene.
COL: How long have you been doing it?
TQ: I started assisting when I was 19, so I have been in the industry for 15 years, and shooting my own work for roughly 10 years.
COL: What’s your first artistic memory?
TQ: Clicking the shutter button for the first time.
COL: What inspired you to pursue a career in art?
TQ: Definitely my father. Growing up with a photographer father I was early influenced by the
medium and lifestyle, and it caught my interest early on.
COL: Do you remember your first work of art?
TQ: It was a picture of a horse I shot on my dads old Leica M6 in Jerez in Spain. I didn’t really know much about what I was doing, but I thought it was nice at the time.
COL: If you could have any piece of art in history, what would you choose?
TQ: I would love a Mark Rothko painting. I love the dark serene color palettes
COL: What is your relationship with fashion?
TQ: My father started Norway’s first fashion magazine, and later became a fashion
photographer, so growing up I looked through these magazines as a kid, as they were always lying
around the house.
So I guess its always been a part of my life.
COL: What is the best and worst thing about being an artist?
TQ: The never ending urge to create is probably the best, but also the worst thing, as inspiration is not always present.
COL: Who do you admire?
TQ: I admire people who are ambitious and are not afraid to go for what they want and believe in.
COL: How important is the ability to expose your art to you and your creative field?
TQ: It's very important to get exposure. It creates word of mouth, and strengthens your reputation.
