Q & A:
COL: How old are you and where are you from?
CH: I`m 25 years old and from a small town called Gjøvik, currently living in Oslo.
COL: What do you do?
CH: I do graphics. Primarily collages, illustrations and color renderings trying to experiment with the digital canvas as much as possible. Working full time at an advertising agency at the heart of Oslo, called NAUG. I'm working freelance, co-running Gallery Lyssky, and in general trying to produce as much as possible - thriving to become the best version of myself.
COL: How long have you been doing it?
CH: I remember drawing a bunch of different movie characters as a kid. Started experimenting with graphics after secondary school. Been doing digital collages ever since.
COL: What’s your first artistic memory?
CH: Eraserhead
COL: What inspired you to pursue a career in art?
CH: David Lynch did.
COL: Do you remember your first work of art?
CH: I remember mimicking an editorial illustration of Carl I. Hagen in first grade, the teachers cracked up and hung it on the refrigerator in the staff room.
COL: What is your relationship with fashion?
CH: I’ve worked with fashion for the last years, always been a huge part of my identity and self-expression. Becoming more and more obsessed as I've grown. Expensive habit.
COL: What does the word “collective” mean to you as an artist?
CH: For me, "collective" means united, connected and open. Creativity has to be shared, open and transparent in order to make meaning and advance.
COL: What is the best and worst thing about being an artist?
CH: The best part is being so emotional attached to it. Being and artist and being creative is closely linked to the character, mood and spirit - which also makes it the worst part.
COL: Who do you admire?
CH: My brother.
COL: What can we expect to see at this year’s festival?
CH: Expect to see.
COL: Who are you excited to see?
CH: Whoever inspires.
COL: How important is the ability to expose your art to you and your creative field?
CH: Without exposure I cannot prosper.
