Q & A:

COL: How old are you and where are you from?

HN: 29 years old, born, raised and based in Stavanger.

COL: What do you do?

HN: Im a Photographer working mainly with commercial work like creative content,

products, portraits and other personal creative projects.

COL: How long have you been doing it?

HN: I´ve been working as a photographer after graduating at Norwegian school of photography in Trondheim, in 2010. But i fell in love with photography ever since i got my first camera back in 2005.

COL: What inspired you to pursue a career in art?

HN: What inspires me is to have the possibility to express myself and make my own dreams and ideas a reality through my creative projects and my wide spectrum of different customers and artists i work with who allow me to experiment as i choose

COL: Do you remember your first work of art?

HN: Probably all the triangle shaped people I was drawing as a kid, but when it comes to photography, the family had an 2 megapixel camera i ran around taking pictures of myself and things with wich after i photoshopped to become unrecognizable.

COL: If you could have any piece of art in history, what would you choose?

HN: Thats a hard question. But I would love to have any of the work from David Lachapelle

or Pierre et Gilles hanging on my wall.

COL: What is your relationship with fashion?

HN: Fashion is a great way to express yourself and get inspiration from. It varies in different beautiful color and shape combinations, and that's a beautiful thing, people need changes from time to time, and it also allows us to experiment and push boundaries.

COL: What does the word “collective” mean to you as an artist?

HN: Collective, to me that means fun! its always much fun to work with other artists on a project, and seeing the progress as we go along, it also allows me to view things from a new angle i might not always be able to see on my own as you can so easily get "stuck" in your own ideas and mindsets, working collective with a group of artists is always very much fun, but also challenging in its own way, challenging yourself is good.

COL: What is the best and worst thing about being an artist?

HN: That you have the possibility to be your own boss, thats both the worst, and the best thing. But its really more good than bad. When you hit the lows, it could feel really bad, Then you have to be able to pick yourself up and keep on moving on, keep focus, surround yourself with positive vibes and get in the zone, not always the easiest thing to do, but when you love what you are doing for a living, you always have a tendency to "get there" in the end.

COL: Who do you admire?

HN:  I admire other creative artists that are themselves and dont let anyone stop them from being who they are, and what they want to do in life. And the ones that makes their own path in life.

COL: What can we expect to see at this year’s festival?

HN: Its all about happiness and love.

COL: Who are you excited to see?

HN: Everyone! But I love Eirik Lysters illustrations, and Cara Liens work. Also Guttestreker!

COL: How important is the ability to expose your art to you and your creative field?

HN: Its really important, to spread your feelings, and make your mark in this world. As i said before, people need changes in both colors, shapes and feelings from time to time, and i hope that i can communicate different feelings, shapes and colors in my work, and if looking at my work can make someones day better, thats good enough for me, then my work is appericiated and loved. Thats what gives me my daily drive.
