Q & A:

COL: How old are you and where are you from?

LL:  I am 27 years old from Askim.

COL: What do you do?

LL: I do not describe myself only a fashion designer, or a costume designer, rather I am an artist working with clothing as my form of expression.

I wish my work can carry a spiritual calm and have a calming effect, especially in a society where there are so many who have difficulty with mental disorders. My goal is to inspire those who see my work to connect with themselves and everything around them more spiritually.

COL: How long have you been doing it?

LL: Nearly ten years, since I started my studies in art.

COL: What inspired you to pursue a career in art?

LL: When I was 17 years old, living in Japan for one year as an exchange student.

COL: Do you remember your first work of art?

LL: I honestly can not remember.

COL: If you could have any piece of art in history, what would you choose?

LL: The woodblock print, The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife (1814) by Hokusai.

COL: What is your relationship with fashion?

LL: Fashion is an important part of my life, fashion let me express myself creatively through my work and the way I dress.

COL: What does the word “collective” mean to you as an artist?

LL: To grow as an artist, I believe it is not only about developing my own artist practise alone, but also through the strength of cross-disciplinary collaborations with creative. The word collective to me means a space to meet other artist, opening opportunities to network and collaboration.

COL: What is the best and worst thing about being an artist?

LL:  The best thing about being an artist is to be able to express my creative universe, vision and what I believe in. The worst thing is probably that I often have more than one idea, and I want to do everything at the same time, which is impossible.

COL: Who do you admire?

LL:  Crazy creative people.

COL: What can we expect to see at this year’s festival?

LL:  The moon

COL: Who are you excited to see?

LL:  Everyone!

COL: How important is the ability to expose your art to you and your creative field?

LL: How important is the ability to expose your art to you and your creative field?

Very important! The feeling of being able to inspire others through my work is amazing.
