The Espon Award 2019 gave designers the freedom to create innovative fashion using new technology for textile printing, as well as reduce waste by keeping production local.
Winner Michael Olestad is educated in London with a diploma in art and design from London College of Fashion, and a bachelor’s degree in fashion form Middelsex University. Olestad has a distinctive use of color and materials and can be distinguished by its draperies. He has shown six collections to date and has collaborated with a number of artists and musicians. His work has been shown at Rogaland Art Center, UKS Oslo and the Opera in Oslo. In 2017 he won the BIK BOK Runway Award.

The Finnish designer Rolf Ekroth is educated at the prestigious Alto Unviersity. Through his studies, Rolf Ekroth has won awards such as Designers Nest competition, Young Designers of the Year, Galeries Lafayette, to name a few. His next collection will be shown in Milan January 2020, wich will be his first catwalk show.
This means everything to me and comes at an absolutely perfect time in my career. This award opens new doors for me, and I am very much looking forward to working with Epson – Ekroth
